Stillness Between the Tides began as something entirely different.
Rather than starting over, I chose to paint through it. As new layers emerged, traces of the original composition remained visible beneath the surface, becoming part of the story instead of something to hide. White blossoms, soft blue flowers, fresh greens, and expressive marks slowly transformed the canvas into a celebration of growth, resilience, and possibility.
To me, this painting reflects how life unfolds. We don’t erase where we’ve been. Every experience, every layer, every unexpected turn becomes part of who we are. The beauty isn’t found in perfection, but in allowing something new to emerge from what already exists.
