Description
Home is not always a place.
Sometimes it is a person. A memory. A feeling. A moment when something inside us becomes quiet and we know, even for just a little while, that we are exactly where we are meant to be.
The Light We Come Home To is a 36 x 36 original acrylic painting inspired by that feeling.
A small house sits quietly beneath a sky that seems almost too large to contain. Golden light moves across layers of blue, cream, lavender, pink, and soft gray, while below, a field of wildflowers grows freely in an unexpected mix of color and texture.
I love how small the house feels against everything surrounding it. There is so much movement in the sky and so much life growing in the field, yet the house remains steady.
It waits.
For me, this painting became a reminder that no matter how much we change, how far we travel, or how many different versions of ourselves we become along the way, there are certain places, people, and feelings that call us home.
And sometimes, all we need is a little light to find our way back.
